One 14th-century residence, 16,500 visitors and 850 of the most charming historic cars of all time: these are the ingredients in this celebration of the French art of living.
The Château de Chantilly forms a breath-taking backdrop to one of the sector's most prestigious European events.
The 5th edition of Chantilly Arts & Elegance takes place on Sunday 30 June. The event, which from this year forward will be held every two years, alternating with the prestigious Le Mans Classic, celebrates the French art de vivre in various fields such as motoring, gastronomy, art and luxury. The event is divided into three contests: the Concours d'Etat, for classic car collectors from all over the world; the Concours d'Elegance, which awards manufacturers of the most beautiful concept cars; and the Grand Prix des Club, a contest reserved for historic car clubs.
FCA Heritage will be there in Chantilly with an extraordinary dream car, the Alfa Romeo 33 Carabo, a one-off prototype made in 1968 by the Bertone studio based on a design by Marcello Gandini. The most iconic feature of this car is its green livery with orange details, inspired by the colours of the Carabus auratus beetle, from which the car got its name. The wedge-shaped profile, scissor doors and remarkably low height are the other distinctive elements that give this unique car added personality.
