FCA Heritage presents a grand project dedicated to all enthusiasts of the brand's history, a rally championship in which Abarth boasts many successes.
The Coppa Abarth Classiche (Classic Abarth Cup) is in its second edition this year. The novel fact is that the chosen speciality is rally racing, an area in which the scorpion brand boasts many international successes at the highest level. Organised in conjunction with Michelin Italia, the Classic Abarth Cup is held as part of the Michelin Historic Cup. Abarth's rallying accolades include ten constructors’ world titles and ten drivers' world titles, won both as Abarth and when the Squadra Corse Abarth racing team managed Lancia. Among other things, Abarth is launching another rally competition this year in the form of the Trofeo Abarth 124 Rally, which consists of seven races and promises a thrilling spectacle.
The Classic Abarth Cup comprises six races open to all historic models built before 1981. There are three groups in total, with race prizes awarded for the first-placed car in each group. Additionally, there will be jackpots for the overall winners of each group. Another three special prizes will be awarded at the end of the championship for the three highest-ranked Autobianchi A112 Abarth models. Enrolment is free of charge. The format of the Classic Abarth Cup, developed in collaboration with Michelin Italia, offers teams incentives for signing up to events and buying tyre sets.
