The re-enactment of the Castell'Arquato-Vernasca hillclimb reaches its 22nd edition.

FCA Heritage is participating in the Vernasca Silver Flag with a display stand and four stunning classic cars, the Alfa Romeo 33/2 Daytona, the Fiat 525 SS, the Abarth SE010 2000 Sport and the Lancia D25.
Reserved for racing cars dating from the earliest days of the automobile until the early 1970s, the Vernasca Silver Flag is a re-enactment of the Castell'Arquato-Vernasca historic hillclimb that was staged from 1953 to 1972. Today, the event is structured in the form of a "dynamic conservation and restoration concours", with cars racing on closed roads at restricted speed.
Vernasca Silver Flag spectators can get within touching distance of the extraordinary cars exhibited in the freely accessible paddock, as well as watching them in action on the race course, which consists of around 9 kilometres of curves and climbs from Castell'Arquato to Vernasca. It is a winning formula that has earned the event the admiration and enthusiasm of spectators year after year.
This participation confirms the commitment of FCA Heritage to the world of historic cars and to events that celebrate the sporting traditions of Italian brands. The pace cars for the re-enactment race will be two exceptional models, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and the new Abarth 124 Spider.
Among the race entrants is the legendary 1968 Alfa Romeo Type 33/2 Daytona, whose many victories include the 24 Hours of Daytona, to which it owes its name, and Le Mans. Also on the starting grid are the fast and luxurious 1929 Fiat 525 SS cabriolet, which was penned by Mario Revelli di Beaumont, the Abarth SE010 2000 Sport and the Lancia D25, whose first competitive appearance dates back to June 1954, when a D25 engine was mounted on a D24 driven by Alberto Ascari in the Porto Grand Prix.
The theme of this year's Vernasca Silver Flag is "Passion & Desire, the Dream of Historic Racing Cars", providing an unmissable opportunity for all classic car aficionados to take up the challenge and live out their dream by bringing along the most beautiful car of all — their own.
During this 22nd edition, a list of prestigious awards were presented to some of the most beautiful cars in the FCA Heritage Collection. The Fiat 525 SS collected no fewer than two honours, namely the "CPAE (Classic Car Club of Piacentino) Giuseppe Figoni Carrozziere Trophy" for most elegant car and the "Pre-War Best of Show" prize.
The "CPAE Sports Prototype Car Trophy" went to the Alfa Romeo 33/2 Daytona, while its driver Arturo Merzario picked up the "Special Award for Guest Driver".
The accolades confirm the attention and prestige afforded to FCA Heritage during the biggest events and leading shows on the classical car scene.
