The renowned company based in Bath has created a model of the Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 B Speciale Tipo Le Mans, the first model car in the “Le Reginette del Museo Alfa Romeo” collection
The 1:43 scale model of the Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 B Speciale Tipo Le Mans inaugurates the collaboration between FCA Heritage and Brooklin Models.
Set up by the Carrozzeria Touring body shop in Milan with patented "Superleggera” (Superlight) technology and equipped with a 2.9-liter 8-cylinder in-line engine capable of 220 HP, this legendary car came close to victory at the Le Mans 24 Hours of 1938. When the car was forced to retire due to a technical failure, it had a ten lap advantage (about 160 km) over the second car in the race: a memorable performance, which assured its place in history.
The Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 B Special Tipo Le Mans officially becomes part of the world of Brooklin Models: a world of passion, elegance and attention to detail.
Each model is hand made, with parts cast in white metal. The car body is carefully prepared, painted by hand and assembled with the smaller parts coated in nickel and then fixed inside and to the base plate.
Each piece develops through long and careful preparatory work: expert craftsmen create original brass masters, based on photos and illustrations made during many hours spent studying the cars live and talking to owners and car history experts.
The model of the 8C 2900 B Le Mans, the first in the collection dedicated to the most iconic cars housed in the Alfa Romeo Museum, is an expression of high quality, creativity and craftsmanship: the distinctive features of Brooklin Models' creations.
