From the Heritage Hub in Turin to the Conner Center in Detroit, a truly global story where motoring is intertwined with society, culture and passion.
For more than a century, the car has represented a revolution not only in mobility, but also in thought, horizons and possibilities. From one side of the Atlantic to the other, the Group's brands have created models that have become part of the world's cultural heritage. This episode of the “FCA What's Behind” web series of documentaries tells the story of these innovations, focusing on FCA Heritage, its sites and its work.
From unforgettable cars to characters who left their mark on the history of motoring, viewers are taken on a journey through the Group’s history and its iconic locations. These include the Heritage Hub, the home of the department established in the former Officina 81 at Mirafiori, where gears and drive shafts were once produced, now hosting over 300 vintage cars; the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese, with the Milan-based company's car collection; the Officine Classiche, where the Group's vintage cars are certified, repaired and restored by the team of FCA Heritage's expert technicians; and the Fiat Historical Center, located in Fiat’s first sizable plant on Corso Dante, Turin, now the site of the brand's 100-plus years of archives, among other gems. The story then shifts to the United States, giving viewers a look into the ‘home’ of the Group's American brands and its historic cars: the Conner Center in Detroit, which holds around 400 Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge and Ram cars, as well as models from historic brands such as Imperial, Plymouth and De Soto.
