3-5 November 2017
FCA Heritage stars in a side-project at The GIFER, the festival dedicated to the international gif art phenomenon, now held for the second time.
Pastfuture, meaning cyclic time where past and future merge, is the theme chosen for the 2017 edition of The Gifer.Exactly thirty years after the birth of gifs, the theme is a homage to gif art itself, which constantly moves in a cyclic time-frame where the beginning and end are the same. The concept of pastfuture was also the inspiration for a side-project at the festival, involving FCA Heritage.
The idea was to place the innovative gif format in communication with the timeless, iconic nature of cars that have written the history of Italian motoring. The project was undertaken with sponsorship from Sapient Razorfish, the multinational leader in Digital Transformation.
The stars of this contest within the community of GIFers were the Fiat 500, the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, the Fiat 124 Abarth Rally and the Lancia Aprilia, used by artists to create celebratory gifs. The works were assessed by a jury headed by Aurora Incardona and Roberto Giolito for FCA Heritage and Federico Salomone for Sapient Razorfish.
The winning gifs were produced by Colin Raff, Nicola Gastaldi and Okkult Motion Pictures and were shown on 3 November at the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation in Turin (IT) and on 4 November during the award ceremony at the Cinema Massimo, at the foot of the city's Mole Antonelliana.
