In 1965 a car was created that was destined to become a success that remained unequalled until 1976. The Lancia Fulvia Coupé was designed by Piero Castagnero for the Lancia Style Centre, who said he had been inspired by the contours of Riva motorboats. With its clean-cut tail and slender front, it was a 2+2-seater sports Berlinetta with meticulous detailing, recalling a nautical-inspired design in the famous dashboard covered in wood. The 4-speed gearbox with characteristic cloche lever between the seats was a notable feature of the first series, a car that captivated the market with its style and performance. The clamour of victories achieved by the Lancia HF inspired the production of the glorious HF "Fanalone" and ensured the commercial success of all derivative models.
