Telling the stories of past successes is the most impactful and effective way to inspire future generations. This was precisely the logic behind the FIA’s decision
A gala evening is being held in Paris to mark to launch the FIA Hall of Fame, a gallery inside the FIA headquarters in the French capital that celebrates the crowning glories of motor racing, with a view to inspiring the stars of the future.
It is a place that preserves the memory of heroes who contributed to the most exciting chapters in the history of the sport, so that they can become models for the younger generations who will one day get behind the wheel and compete.
The presentation event coincides with the first annual induction ceremony: the Automobile Club de France is recognising 33 drivers, superstars who have won the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, the most revered title in motorsport.
They are not just outstanding athletes, but men who embody the highest values in motor racing: passion, excellence, innovation, integrity and respect for opponents.
The event is being attended by over 20 drivers, accompanied by some of the cars that helped them to become champions.
Machines of today and yesteryear are on display to celebrate the biggest winners in motor racing, past and present: the Ferrari 156 of Phil Hill; the Lotus 25 of Jim Clark; the McLaren MP4/5 of Ayrton Senna; the Ferrari F1-2000 of Michael Schumacher and the Renault R25 of Fernando Alonso.
And, above all, a legend that left an indelible mark in the annals of motor racing: the Alfa Romeo 158, also known as the Alfetta (Little Alfa), winner of the first Formula 1 World Championship with Nino Farina and loaned for this exclusive occasion by FCA Heritage.
A distinguished guest for the inauguration of the FIA Hall of Fame.
An ideal figurehead to convey the project's core aim, which is to showcase the brightest stars of an illustrious sporting history, thereby lighting the way forward for those who want to follow in the footsteps of legendary drivers.
