8 July 2017 was a date to remember for all Alfa Romeo aficionados. The AlfaCity event was held in Zanka, Hungary, for the second consecutive year.
FCA Heritage, the department of FCA that promotes the group’s historic car heritage, could certainly not miss the event organised in Zanka, Hungary.
Only last year in 2016, some 1200 Alfas converged on the magical city for the largest gathering of Alfa Romeos in Central and Eastern Europe. The high expectations for this year's edition were not disappointed, thanks to another record turnout of 1321 Alfa Romeo cars.
Car enthusiasts certainly got what they had hoped for: an evocative location and a buzzing atmosphere heavy with the scent of petrol and diesel.
The sporting event, which included competitions and parades of vintage cars, was accompanied by culinary events and music concerts for all the Alfa Romeo enthusiasts who had travelled to Zanka.
Marco Fazio, Historical Services Manager for FCA Heritage, was on hand to answer questions about the Certification of Origin service for classic Alfa Romeos and more recent young-timers, such as the Alfa Romeo 156 or Alfa Romeo 147.
For those who missed the event this time round, next year’s edition will also be held in Zanka.
