Now in its 29th edition, Techno Classica welcomes vintage vehicle enthusiasts and exhibitors from 30 different countries. FCA Heritage is attending the prestigious event with a number of vintage models alongside the latest new releases.
This year the FCA Heritage stand is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Mille Miglia, which Enzo Ferrari called "the most beautiful race in the world" and which was first held on 26 March 1927. Although all four Italian brands have excelled in the legendary competition, the most successful was undoubtedly Alfa Romeo, which won the event 11 times, including seven consecutive editions from 1932 to 1938. The Alfa brand will be exhibiting the RL SS Mille Miglia, which was the first Alfa Romeo car to enter the race, back in 1927. It will be showcased alongside the legendary 8C 2300 Spider Corto Mille Miglia, which took the chequered flag in 1932 and 1933 with the unforgettable Tazio Nuvolari behind the wheel.
Meanwhile, Lancia will be represented by the Aurelia B20 GT 2000 and the extraordinary D24 Sport. The exhibition is completed by the Fiat 1100 S and the Fiat Abarth 750 Coupé Zagato. To celebrate the 60th birthday of another Italian motoring myth—the Fiat 500—the new Fiat 500-60th will make its national debut in Essen, together with two other outstanding recent releases, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and the Abarth 124 Spider.
