Established in 2000, the award recognises outstanding contributors to the field of automotive engineering.

The International Award was established in 2000 to commemorate Eugenio Barsanti and Felice Matteucci, inventors of the combustion engine, and recognises outstanding contributors to the field of automotive engineering. The award-giving ceremony will be held from 6 to 9 April in Pietrasanta. Organised by the Municipal Administration of Pietrasanta in conjunction with Viareggio Versilia Rotary Club, the event enjoys the patronage of the seven municipalities of the Versilia, the Province of Lucca and the Region of Tuscany, with the support of the President of the Italian Republic.
